The Beginning...

After over a year of living in the Dominican Republic, so much has taken place and I have seen God work in amazing ways. I feel so much more comfortable with the culture and the language and with navigating the city since a year ago. This year I have 2 classes of first graders with about 20 students each and our school continues to grow as word spreads about our school throughout the city. It so exciting being in a place that is constantly growing and thriving.

It's amazing to see the different places the Lord brought me in my life to get me here. Since I was about 5 years old, I have wanted to be a teacher. And since I was 9, I have wanted to be a missonary. Somehow those dreams were put on the backburner during highschool and college, but after graduation God reignited that fire inside of me and led me down a path that would eventually combine those dreams and bring me to the Caribbean as a teacher. I am humbled and thankful and very, very blessed. Life is not always easy as you try to adjust life in another culture, but it's so fulfilling doing exactly what you know you were meant to do. One day my dream may change or God may call me back to the states, but for now I wouldn't choose to be anywhere else.
